I have had a solo card for way over a year now and have had it with natwest. I have found it incredibly useful. The Solo card is a switch card for under 16's and over if you can't apply for a switch but it works exactly the same. It is a debit card, which means you can pay for things using the card. Unlike a credit card it is connected directly to your bank so you can only spend what you've got and you cannot get overdrawn. You can also withdraw money from cash machines. So primarily it is connected to like an instant access bank account, so having a spending card connected to it is very good. Also it is extremely useful for purchasing things over the Internet. Almost all online shops accept it so you can shop just about anywhere. All you have to do is give the card number and issue date and you are away. My bank (natwest) im not surer about the others send me a monthly statement telling me exactly what has been spent. This is good for keeping on top of your finances. When you join they also send you a nice package, which tells you and helps you manage your money. Paying for good using the cards has never been simpler. You simply give it to the cashier and then you sign for it. The money comes straight out of your account, the downside of this is that you don?t get the vital time from walking from the cash machine back to the shop to decide whether or not you really want the product, but oh well!!! You can also use it to pay for a pay as you go phone. Phone up your network and register your card then hey, you can keep topping up. Again this can result in spending excessive amounts. But is really useful if you need to top your phone up quickly. I find this cad useful. I have always used it since I have got it and I find it quite useful. I always carry it around with me, and it makes a current account very accessible, it lets you get to your money a lot easier. I recommend this card to anyone who needs
a current cash account or who someone who hasn?t got lots of time and needs to pay for goods very quickly.
