Advantages: Cant go overdrawn

Disadvantages: Embarrassing

Solo looks like Switch, but like everyone else has said, it's not as good.

Bring out a Solo card in a shop and watch as everyone around you laughs (inwardly, of course). Solo means you've got a crap credit rating.

If your imminent spend would take you overdrawn, your Solo card will get declined and the cashier will tell you "Sorry Sir/Madam, You dont have sufficient funds".

Guess how embarassing that would be. Very.

On the plus side, it can be good for those with crap credit histories to be able to get a debit card where Switch isn't an option.

Am baffled as to why you need a good credit rating to have a debit card at all - you're not getting credit,you're spending what you've already got surely??? That probably explains what I've got neither switch or solo though and am left with just my gold credit card,lol. Like your review title again - very 'to the point' :-)
