I usually shop at Boots and love my Advantage Card but on a recent shopping expedition into Superdrug I picked up some cheaper items than Boots and was offered their Beautycard at the till in order to start collecting Beauty points.

The benefits of having this card are as follows: you can spend your points instore anytime you like; you can earn points when you shop at superdrug.com; you can check your current points balance at a glance at your receipt or even online (once you have registered your card which is quick and easy to do at superdrug.com/beautycard); plus you can sign up to become an email VIP and receive exlclusive offers and perks.

WHAT DO YOU GET?

You basically earn 1 point for every £1 you spend which then equates to 1 penny which is not as much as Boots as you earn 4 points for every pound you spend there although Superdrug is slightly cheaper on many products than Boots anyway but the real advantage here is that, unlike Boots, you don't have to cover the whole amount of the item you are buying so you can mix and match points and money and just deduct whatever you have on the card at the time (in multiples of 100 points) which is quite handy.

There are often lots of bonus points to be had in the store on a daily basis and also online, so you can accumulate points quite quickly depending on what you are buying and whether your items have these promotional bonus points or not. You can also earn extra points from Superdrug's sister company, The Perfume Shop Limited if you shop with them too.

The card itself is credit card size with Beautycard written in pink in one corner and Superdrug take another look in the opposite corner and the majority of the card is taken up with a handy wavy mirror on the front so if you need to check your hair or make up whilst out you can use this so it is a multi-purpose card!!

All in all, although I don't think this beats the Boots advantage card in terms of value, I do feel it is a handy item to have if you do ever shop in Superdrug.
