Superdrug Beauty Card
Advantages: Its free, points redeemed easily
Disadvantages: Do not get offers in the post
I'm sure everyone likes to get something back for nothing, well I know I do anyway so when I heard that superdrug were launching their own loyalty card I was straight down to my nearest store when it was released. I do like my beauty products and I like being rewarding for purchasing them even more!
==Applying for a card==
Applying for the superdrug beauty card is simple and it's free to do so. I went into store and picked up an application form which is easy enough to fill out and quick. The card itself is attached to the form so you can start using it straight away and not worry about using a temporary card.
My local store sent my details away in order to register my card, you can register your details yourself online if you would rather not fill out the application form. You have to make sure you do this though as you cannot redeem your points until you have registered!
Unfortunately you cannot apply for the card online, you have to go to your nearest store.
==Using the card==
Using the card is simple and the same as you would use any other loyalty card. When you are paying for your items you hand over your card and hey presto you get your points. When you make an account on the superdrug site it holds your beauty card details so you do not need to enter them each time you buy. You can find out how much points you have on your account either by checking online, or you can look on the bottom of your receipt.
==Whats different about this card?==
I am a big fan of the boots loyalty card scheme so was not sure how I would like this one as the perks are quite different.
With the superdrug beauty card you receive 1 point for every £1 that you spend online or in store. As with other loyalty cards there are often opportunities to get more points for your pound. Over the Christmas period there was an offer online to get 10 points per pound which is extremely good value. You also can get extra points depending on your purchases for example there was an offer to receive 15 points per pound when you spent on baby products.
Offers for extra points are good with the superdrug beauty card, this makes up for the fact that you do not get extra point and money off coupons through the post like you do with the boots card.
Superdrug e-mail me quite frequently with new offers. I would say I get an e-mail from them either every week or every fortnight.
What I also like about this card is that you do not need to have enough points to pay the full amount like you do with the boots card. You can redeem points in groups of £1 pound, for example if you have 212 points you can redeem £2 off of your purchase. This is very handy especially if you want to treat yourself but are running a bit low on the old pennies!
==Design of the card==
I like the design of the card as it is something a bit different. Its main feature is a mirror on the front. It's a cute deign however where my one has rubbed against something in my purse it gets dirty and scratched.
I think this is a great loyalty scheme for all superdrug shoppers. Despite only launching fairly recently I think it will soon be as popular as the boots card as they are both fantastic but for different reasons. If you have a superdrug near you pop down and get one, it is free after all!
