If you are a regular shopper at Tesco and collect the reward points in the store then you may want to consider he Tesco clubcard credit card as a way of boosting your points total each month.

Applying for the card is no different to any other credit card, either online, by phone or by completing the application form and posting it, and after a credit check and being given the ok you will receive your card and pin number in seperate envelopes. If you want you can then change your pin at one of the Tesco cash machines. The card is issued by mastercard and has the tesco clubcard symbol on the back provided you link it to your clubcard account when you take it out.

The clubcard reward system at Tesco gives you a point for every pound that you spend in store and this equates to 1p, not the most generous reward however when you get your vouchers you can use them towards the shopping at face value or can exchange them for clubcard deals like days out for four times the face value meaning a 4p reward system. If you use your Tesco Credit card to fund purchases then you get an extra point for every £4 you spend whether it is in Tesco or any other retailer.

I always pay off my card each month so I avoid any interest charges, the current rate on purchases is 1.385%and 1.873% on cash. Managing the card is easy, I make payments direct from my bank account or you can pay by phone or post and you get an interest free period of up to 46 days dependant upon when you make the purchase.

I have found it to be a hassle free credit card account, unlike MBNA or the awful Morgan Stanley you are not swamped with junk mail or those annying credit cheques that I always think are a security risk if they were ever stolen in the post. The phone system is one of those annoying press the number kind but it works and I have always found the staff quite helpful when I have needed assistance.

Overalla pretty good card and the rewards come in useful as there a wide range of deals available covering days out, magazine subscriptions or even air miles.
