Advantages: Good for the frequent shopper, It is something for nothing, so worth collecting points, Light and easy to carry around

Disadvantages: Not many points to the pound, Company have lots of information about your shopping habits

The Tesco Clubcard is a loyalty scheme set up by the supermarket chain to reward customers for the money that they spend in Tesco stores. It comes in the form of a plastic swipe card, like a credit card and is really no hassle to carry around. It can be used from the moment you get it, you just have to fill in a simple form in order to redeem points for vouchers when you have enough.
For every pound you spend you receive a point, which i don't really think is the best deal around, for example the Boots card offers 4 points to every pound. However, as they say in the adverts, every little helps! It is definitely worth having the card if you spend lots of money in Tesco, but this is not the best value for money store, so for the sake of a money off voucher if it is easier to shop somewhere cheaper, this may be the better option.
Overall, i think that Tesco are getting more out of the Clubcard scheme than the consumer, as the whole reason they have this is to keep track of what the customers are buying, showing them what to promote and put on special offer, thus allowing them to make more money!

If you shop at Tesco anyway then why not take advantage of a 1% discount on all your shopping - there is nothing to lose, just get one and use the Clubcard.

Boot s advantage card is a pain, points offers only on limited products and redemption only on certain items, a pain in the neck.

You could say so much more about the card than this. If you do add to this, let me know and I'' be back to re-rate.

OK, It's a tiny redemption against what you spend, but that's loyalty cards, I think they all equate to about 1%... Rather than shop in 4 outlets at varying prices, you can combine your shopping habits, finance, ISP and other stuff, and get a reasonable redemption on stuff that you would be buying anyway. I think it's a decent offer
