Advantages: Days out
Disadvantages: not a great rate at 1%
This is one of the only loyalty cards that I bother with as I do most of my shopping at Tesco and also get petrol there as well.
Applying is easy by picking up a leaflet in store which already contains your card. You then complete the details on the application form and hand it in as the service desk and start using the card, no id is required and no credit check as the card canot be used to pay for goods only earn points.
For every complete pound that you spend you get one point. Some products are not included like lottery tickets however occasionally goods will attract a certain number of bonus points as well. Every point is worth 1p and the running total is shown on your receipt.
Four times a year your points are converted to vouchers and ae sent to you by post. Normally in the mailing you will receive other vouchers which give extra points for other purchases over a certain value.
You can then either use the vouchers towards your food bill and you get the face value of the voucher or you can exchange the vouchers for Tesco Deals and then you get 4x the face value of the voucher. The Tesco Deals are really good, you can get air miles, use them to get discounts off holidays or as payment towards day trips. For a day pas to Alton Towers normally costing about £29 you oly need £7 in Tesco clubcard vouchers and this is how I use mt vouchers to pay for days out. You can also use them for entry to museums like the Space Centre in Leicester and for cinema and bowling trips even in some restaurants.
If you shop at Tesco it is well worth having.
