Advantages: Its free.

Disadvantages: Not the greatest amount of points.

The Tesco clubcard

I have had the Tesco clubcard for just over a year now. It’s a good scheme the points that you get are not as good as the points you get for your boots card. It takes a lot longer to get a decent sum up with the Tesco’s 1. Also you get vouchers sent out to you at the end of every month up to the value of what you have earned, rounded up to the nearest pound or 50p. Any remaining points are carried over to you next months lot.
Whereas with the boots card it’s continuous until you want to spend your points.

With the Tesco card you get only 1 point per pound spent in store which is the equivalent of 1p. So its only £1 for every £100 spent in store.
I usually get around £3.00 a month in vouchers. The vouchers have an expiry date on them. You don’t have to spend them straightaway you could save them and use them with your next month’s vouchers its up to you.

You can use your voucher when shopping online and typing in the voucher code on the front of voucher at the end of purchase and it deducts the amount off of your final bill. Or by using them in store by presenting them at the tills.

When you receive your vouchers by post with your statement. It tells you how many points you had in that month and how many are going to be carried over to next month. It also has alternatives where if you save up your vouchers up to a certain amount you can exchange them for activities and different days out. Which they show you on the statement. It can be for things like Alton towers to Longleat. It’s different every time.

It doesn’t bother me that they are low points because how can you complain when it’s free to join. You’re getting all these benefits for nothing which is great.
You have to be 18 to get a card. All you have to do is fill in a little form which you can pick up in store. You can probably apply online aswell. But I have never looked as I was already a member before I had a look on there website.

I would recommend it to anyone who shops at Tesco’s regularly. I mean why not get something for free just for shopping there. You would be stupid not to.

Summary: If you shop there then get it.
