Advantages: its an easy way to save
Disadvantages: they wont give you your money back before christmas
I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service I have received from tesco clubcard.
I called tesco clubcard on the 23rd of Nov and was advised to cancel and re-order my vouchers as the first lot had been sent out 3 weeks previously,and as I had not received them they were not likely to come. I was told the new vouchers would arrive before the 6th of December, so on the 5th of Dec when the vouchers arrived I was very pleased but it did not last because when I went to tesco and done some shopping I gave my vouchers and was told they were invalid!
So I called tesco clubcard again and was told the new vouchers were only printed on the 5th of Dec and I should receive them by the 12th of Dec. I asked if there was anyway they could re-activate the clubcard points I had received and cancel the new ones, I felt quite anxious about having to wait for the new vouchers as the first ones had taken over 5 weeks to get to me if I had to wait that long for the new ones it would be Jan before they arrived, I was told there was nothing they could do so after much complaining on my part I was put through to a supervisor and then a manager called Leon who assured me if I called back the next day (6th Dec) the new voucher codes would be in the system and I would be able to cancel the new vouchers and re-activate the old ones. Fantastic.
So I called today and explained about the conversation with Leon and was told there is no manager called Leon! I got put on hold and then cut off! This happened twice. So I called again and spoke to a supervisor who told me the vouchers were not printed yesterday they only were printed today (6th dec) and they would possibly be with me in the next two weeks and there was nothing else they could do and I would have to wait for the new vouchers to arrive! If they were not with me in two weeks I was to call back again and they would re-issue them again! I did not feel this was good enough I have saved a lot of money with tesco, I am a loyal customer and have been for many years, I asked if they could maybe send the new vouchers recorded delivery or next day delivery to ensure I received the new vouchers and as quickly as possible and was told no, so I asked for a cash transfer straight in to my bank but of course I was told no, I am so angry I have nearly £400.00 I cant spend! I was then told that maybe I could be issued with some kind of mini card but not for two weeks or maybe I could try to spend my vouchers in store anyway and that the store might let me spend them even though they were invalid! I am outraged by the lack of knowledge their clubcard call centres seem to have, I have been messed about left right and centre and still am not able to spend MY money I have saved with tesco clubcard!!! I would advise any one else having the same problem to get in touch with watchdog and trading standards as I have done.
