Advantages: Free holidays...need I say more!
Disadvantages: Hard work getting all those points!
I have just booked a ferry (return trip) between Wales and Ireland with my clubcard vouchers and think that it is definetly worth a review!
Firstly, clubcard is a scheme run by Tesco where every £1 you spend is converted into the equivelent of 1p.... does not seem like a lot at first but they mount up fairly quickly.
Its very easy to join either on line or by leaflet in store and best of all....Its free!!
Collecting points is also easy, just have your clubcard scanned each time you shop and you will be cashing in points in no time.
Points are converted into vouchers every quarter and can either be used to pay toward your shopping instore or online, or may now be used for clubcard deals.... This scheme offers 4 times the return for your vouchers!!
Now the harder part... maximising your points.....
Ok, till spits, these are the little pieces of paper the till spits out with your receipt offering you extra points/money off etc.... From asking around Iv gathered most people find they recieve these mostly early week, mon/tues/wed... these are a great way of picking up extra points...
Tesco Clubs are another great point earner, for example, I am a member of the Baby club and every few weeks they send me out vouchers for extra points on my shopping... these extra points can often add up to £10 worth or more...giving £40 in deals!!!!!
Shopping on line is possibly the best way of bulking up your points, not only are there often deals ie.. buy 2 items, recieve extra points.... but also there are now loads of websites stating codes to be entered at checkout stage to gain extra points..eg... 1000 extra points on £50 spend!!!
When I have my shopping delivered I always choose not to have it packed in bags... not only good for the environment but also for your clubcard balance... these are green points and 1 is recieved for each bag you save!
Green clubcard points can also be collected by recycling your old phones and ink cartridges, envelopes are available in-store or online ,free post and amoint of points recieved varies, also great for the environment!
There are loads of other ways to build up points, petrol, mobile phones and credit, credit cards, car insurance and tesco diets to mention a few.....
Once you recieve your clubcard statemant and vouchers you can go to the deals section of their website and choose which deal you would like... hotels, holidays, magazine subscriptions, ferrys, days out and many many more... for each £2.50 you exchange you will recieve £10 off your selected deal.
Deals bookings generally need to be booked a few weeks in advance and using the code from your clubcard vouchers you will be able to order vouchers for your selected deal. They arrive within a few days and then its just a case of contacting the company you have ordered the vouchers for and posting the vouchers to them... I recommend you send these signed for, which costs a little extra but whats a few pence extra when you may be getting a free holiday!!
Summary: Anything free cant be bad!!
