Advantages: Don't just have to spendr points in store as there are various deals to choose from

Disadvantages: Only get 1 point per pound

If you shop at Tesco regularly it is worth getting a club card if you do not already have one. You earn 1 point for every pound you spend in store, on petrol, online or on their finance services such as car and home insurance. You also get clubcard points if you are an EON customer and these are calculated once a year. Although 1 point per pound does not sound a lot they soon add up as you get vouchers to use which can give you extra points.

As well as getting the clubcard itself you also get two keyrings with smaller clubcards on so that you will always have one with you!

Your points are calculated and vouchers sent to you once every 3-4 months and you can either chose to spend them in store or online or, if you go to the Tesco website and click on clubcard there are various other ways to spend your points which actually give you more than you would get should you just spend the points on groceries.

The other ways you can use your points are as follows:

You can exchange double your points value (i.e. £5 would give you £10) for an e-coupon which you can spend on wine and champagne from Tesco wine club.

The other way to spend your points is on the clubcard deals. For every £2.50 of points you get up to £10 to spend on the clubcard deals. These include:

Days out including places such as Longleat, Alton Towers, Cadbury World, Camelot - there are 125 places to choose (including 18 theme parks) from so should be something to suit everyone!

Airmiles - £2.50 gives you 60 airmiles. It tells you on their website how many airmiles gets you where. For example 750 airmiles would get you a return flight to Paris.

Cafe Rouge or Bella Italia or La Tasca - £10 gives you £40 to spend.

Lego Land - There are various deals, e.g. £16.75 gives you one full annual pass token.

Drayton Manor - Again there are various deals, e.g. £5.75 gives you an adults day pass.

Alton Towers - £8.75 gives you a day ticket.

The Merlin Annual Pass - £31.25 gives you an annual pass for all the Merlin attractions such as Legoland, Thorpe Park, Madamme Tussards and many more.

There are hotels as well to chose from so there is bound to be something you want to spend your points on and I think these deals are much better value for money than spending your points in store.

There is a full list of things you can spend your points on on Tesco's website or you can order a catalogue from them.

Summary: If you shop at Tesco it is a must!
