Advantages: Earn points as you spend, and also as you re-cycle

Disadvantages: Takes a while to earn much as only 1% return

I have mixed feelings towards the Tesco Clubcard scheme. On the one hand I do think it is good to offer people a sort of money back scheme, but on the other it takes so long to build up a decent amount of money off your next lot of shopping. However, I like with my husband and we have no children. I am sure if we had a larger family my view would be different as I would find it more beneficial.

You earn one point per pound, which gives you a penny off your shopping. Basically a return of 1%, which is pretty tiny. But then it is money for nothing, and will certainly encourage some people to come back as they will want to spend their voucher. You also get a few special offers dependant on how many points you have acrued. These are usually on things like fruit and veg, so they are handy to have for sure. You also earn 1 point per bag you recycle, which encourages re-use, in turn helping the environment.

All in all a useful card to have, after all - Every Little Helps!
