Advantages: £1 spent = 1 point. You can have several cards on one account, so all the family can save together

Disadvantages: sometimes they send vouchers for things that you don't buy

I have had my Tesco Clubcard for years. It doesn't matter whether you do all your shopping there or just pop in during the week for a few bits and pieces, it is really amazing how quickly the points add up. Our local Tesco sells food and drink, fresh bread, clothes, household goods, phones, dvd's, cd's, stationery, wrapping paper and greetings cards. For every £ that you spend you get 1 point. You also get 1 point for every bag of your that you take and use - even if it is from another supermarket, although you do sometimes have to tell them that you have re used a bag or you don't get your points. You get bonus points throughout the year as when tesco send you a statement, which is every few months, they also send you vouchers for extra points when you buy certain goods. They also send your clubcard vouchers with your statement too. The clubcard vouchers are valid for two years so you don't have to spend them straight away. You can also exchange the clubcard vouchers for other things - tickets for attractions or airmiles or days out. So many things you can do with a clubcard point. Also you can have more cards added to your account so that the whole family can save points together.

Summary: Well worth having as you would spend the money anyway, so it's good to get a bit back.
