Tesco Clubcard is a bonus scheme card that rewards customers for purchasing various items and normally gives out 1 point per £1.00 spend on Tesco services or products.

There are many ways to earn Clubcard points and these include: shopping in store, shopping online, purchasing petrol, signing up to life insurance, health insurance, car insurance etc, reusing carrier bags and a whole host of other ways. I think that the choice available to earn points is fantastic and quite often there are special offers on to help you earn double or even triple points.

Every quarter of the year (3 months) Tesco will send out statements advising how many points you have made, where you made them etc & then they will send out gift vouchers to the nearest 50p (minimum £2.50 I believe) which you can choose to either spend in store/online for money off your groceries/petrol etc or you can save and use for 'Deal' vouchers which take the money you have earnt and then times by 4 to be used against days out, magazine subscriptions, kitchens, holidays, hotels, flights etc and there is hundreds of offers running at any one time. I think that the 'Deals' is definitely the best way to spend any gift vouchers earnt and last year Tom & I went to the London Eye for free and had an absolutely fantastic time.

Registration for a Clubcard is very simple, just pick up an application form in store which will have a paper 'Temporary Clubcard' stuck to it and then you either register this online, by post or by phone and it takes a couple of minutes and is free of charge. Your new card will then be sent out within a few weeks.

There are frequent vouchers sent out for money off the items that you buy the most as well as some items that you may never have purchased before. I always find that these have been individually catered to my shopping that I normally purchase and while it's a bit scary to think that they really do monitor you closely, it's also good that they have this kind of technology as I want to save money on the produts I buy regularly not ones I never purchase.

I would thoroughly recommend a Clubcard for anybody who ever shops in Tesco, even if you are an occasional shopper it's worth having as it's really just earning points/money for things that you would be purchasing anyway. I have a Clubcard and I have given my Fiancé a card too so that we are both earning money on the same account. Clubcard has saved me quite a lot of money over the years and for this reason I am rating it 5/5.
