Advantages: the rewards are excellent

Disadvantages: i think you probably have to be in it for the long term but is worth it

I have only just started embracing the wonderful world of the Tesco Clubcard. Living on a limited budget, I have found the fact that you can quadruple the value of the points on things such as meals to be such a saving grace when it comes to mine and my partners birthdays. You do still have to pay for the drinks, but I use this to order a much nicer bottle of wine than I normally would, seeing as I'm not handing over any more cash at the end of the meal.

Although it gives a pretty average return by loyalty card standards (typically 1p in the pound), there are ways to maximise this if you regularly buy from Tesco. For example, there are often extra points up for grabs, and also if you order things through Tesco direct or books. I currently have a Tesco Clubcard credit card which enables me to gain extra points as I am getting married in the coming months and have a lot of things that I have to pay out for - my motto is that if I have to spend it anyway I might as well get something back for it. I am hoping that in time I will get enough points to pay for a hotel and a meals on a city break.

The variety of "rewards" that you can get is fantastic and ever expanding - from the aforementioned meals out to hotels, days out and magazine subscriptions- the variety of these is so good that I would imagine that they would benefit most people.
