Advantages: save money
Disadvantages: none
If, like us, you spend a lot of money at Tesco, then a club-card is something well worth getting. It's a loyalty card that basically gives you back 1% of what you spend, in vouchers to spend at the store.
It looks like a credit card, and you can also get key fobs which are dead hand when you forget the card. Present it when you shop, and your totals add up. Every few months you'll be sent a voucher with you value on it to spend.
Let's do an average example. You spend £300 a month at Tesco on food. In one year that's £3600. For that, you would collect £36 in vouchers to spend at the store.
But wait, there's more. You also get your fuel at Tesco, spending £100 a month. Use you clubcard and that will earn you £12 a year.
That's almost £50 in vouchers (two week's petrol money!) for doing nothing extra out of the ordinary other than use your card each time you shop.
You can also claim points with the tesco insurance company, but I don't have any experience of that.
Each time you get posted your vouchers you get extra ones like 'double points on veg', or 'entry into a competition'. It all adds up when you consider you would be spending this money and visiting this shop anyway.
Compare it to Asda, and they don't have a card, so it may well tempt you to go to Tesco instead.
All in all, something for nothing, which is always worth it!
Summary: do it
