Advantages: massive choice of rewards, easy to collect
Disadvantages: not a rolling total
The Tesco Clubcard is by far the best loyalty card on the market...
here is a basic run down for you
- 1 point per £1 spent in store, fuel, online groceries, tesco direct, dvds, online photos etc
- every quarter you are sent a statement with a gift voucher attached. This voucher is the equivelant of 1p per point in 50p increments ie you had 500points you get 500pence, or £5.00
- in your quarterly statement is a set of coupons that, the more you shop with Tesco, the more tailored to your needs they are. The coupons range through everything from extra points when you buy bread to money off digital downloads.
- They have a number of exclusive clubs too...Food club, Healthy Living club, baby club and wine club. with each of these clubs you receive regular magazines and special offer coupons that give you extra points or money off the main features of that issue. You can order wine without being a member of the wine club, but this regularly give you up to 1000 points when you spend over a certain amount on wine, so is highly recommended even if you are only going to buy a case or 2 at christmas.
- They have an xmas saver club that you can join in store. Basically, you still receive your staements every quarter but you dont get the cash vouchers until the november one before xmas, then you get one years worth in one go. You still get the coupons and stuff like a normal customer, but you can also pay into this like a saving scheme, hand over any amount to the cashier when you pay and this will be put onto a balance on your card. up to an amount of around £360 a year. when the novemeber statement arrives you will have seperate vouchers that you have paid for yourself.
- Double up. Tesco are reinvetnting the clubcard at the moment (hence loads of special points offers) and have launched double up. You can exchange your vouchers in store for a double up voucher. this can be used against wine, toys, clothing, health and beauty etc. only downside is you have to chose the category first and cant change your mind.
- Rewards, you can also exchange your vouchers for holidays, theme park tickets, jewellery vouchers etc. This time you dont get double the value YOU GET 4X THE VALUE OF YOUR POINTS. got a £10 voucher? swap it for £40. WOW!!
This is by far the best rewrad scheme around. like i said, having to pick the reward before you buy in store is a bit tricky, and you cant redeem as you go like with boots etc, but the value of the points is amazing, plus the fact that there are so many ways to collect and increase the amount that you get!
I love the clubcard!!
Summary: excellennt scheme, the others have been blown out of the water!!
