Love the "partner offers" (Tesco Clubcard)

Advantages: great deals Disadvantages: takes a while to build points I am a very new convert to Tesco Clubcard; whilst i would never buy fruit and veg in Tescos because it goes off pretty quickly I will quite happily purchase my basics there, such a face wipes and shampoo, simply because a lot of their branded items are often on promotion. For this reason i thought it made sense to get a Clubcard. Initially i thought it wasnt a good deal - only 2 points per pound spent and it takes a massive 100 points to get a £1 voucher - thats right, a £1 return on £50 spend! Whilst this is great for family shops when buying shampoo i didnt think it would add up much! However... it has added up pretty quickly and the best part i found is although on the face it looks like the rewards are less even than the Boots Card, if you go on the website and buy a "partner offer" your points are worth £4... suddenly the deal was looking better - especially when you can get yearly magazine subscriptions such as Zest for £6 and entrance to theme parks for around £12! I am saving my points up with the view to using them at Christmas time and as such, in these credit tight times this card is actually very good as long as you dont go overboard on spending on things you wouldnt be buying anyway! Summary: Give it a try and see what you think! |
