Love 'em or hate 'em Tescos are a major force to be reakoned with. As a frequent shopper at Tescos I have one of their little blue clubcards. The Tesco clubcard gives 1 point per £1 spent in store. Every year or so they send me a new clubcard, in case my old one has been damaged, as well as two key fobs, which are very useful as I always have my keys but frequently forget my wallet!

Each point is worth 1p. The points can either be spent instore, or used against clubcard deals. Personally I think that the deals offer a fantastic range of products and there is generally something on there that someone will be looking to buy. If you spend the points on deals you get 4x their value, the equivalent of 4p in the pound rather than just a penny. This represents a fantastic saving.

What I like about the clubcard scheme is how many bonus points offers there are, it is really easy to build up a lot of points without actually spending all that much. We get all our petrol from Tesco, so get a lot of points that way, but will also stock up on wine for example when we'll get a points boost.

Points can be used on very useful things like breakdown cover, but also on more fun things such as holiday vouchers, jewellery, and meals out.

If it wasn't for clubcard points I wouldn't have been able to afford to start a degree with the Open University (paid for almost completely with deals vouchers), and for that reason I am a complete supporter of the Tesco Clubcard.

Summary: Well worth keeping in your wallet.
