Advantages: loads of deals to cash them in for
Disadvantages: ??
I have been a member of Tesco Clubcard for a few years now - Its very easy to join as you just have to grab a form or ask in Tescos.
I shop in Tescos a few times a week as it is the only store in the small village I live really!
The idea of the Clubcard is that you use it every time you spend money in tescos/online/petrol and you get 1 point for every £1 you spend. Occasionally there are double point deals on products. You can also get few points for re using carrier bags. You are given a atual CLub card and also a key fob - the idea is if you forget your card then you normally have your keys! (And if not you can always validate your reciept and get them next time)
Every quarter (4 times a year) the Clubcard points are sent off to you in the post where you are given your points amounts (100 points = £1) in coupons.
There are several ways to spend your Clubcard coupons.
You can use them in store and they will take your coupon amount off your shopping - recently they have been doing a deal on clothing and other items such as CDs and dvds where you can trade them in for twice the value they are and then get that amount off the certain catagories - I'm not sure if this was just a temporary thing or a permement fixture.
You can send choose somthing from the Rewards magazine where they are then worth 4 x the amount. for eg. a £5 coupon is worth £20 and that could say get you an alton towers ticket for an adult or £20 off a meal at a certain restaurant.
There are many many things you can trade them in for - I personally have so far got - Season tickets for Longleat safari park, admission tickets into Diggerland, a magazine years surscription for a gift to someone, and a pampering day ticket.
Other things range from Air miles to restaurant vouchers or even driving lessons!
I normally fill in the deals form on Tescos site and then they are posted within 7 days - normally get them on day 4 which is very quickly!
You do not need to spend all the coupons at once - if you use a coupon that does not spend it all they will add the access points back on to your card for next time. Or if you dont have enough to spend them on what you want then just wait till the next quarter as they are valid for a year.
I am not sure if you are attually allowed to (so shhhh lol) but I have before sold them! (They are worth 4 x times the value in the deals brochure and its suprising how much people will pay for them!!)
The other thing worth mentioning is that when you get your Clubcard coupons you are also given coupons for extra points on certain items from Tescos or sometimes money off certain items.
Definatly recommend having a Clubcard especially if you do shop in here alot you should have one!!
Summary: get some money back from all that shopping!!
