Tesco Clubcard - A Fantastic Loyalty Card
Member Name: hunts1874
Advantages: A huge selection of rewards to choose from
I can't speak highly enough of Tesco Clubcard. I have yet to come across a better customer loyalty card than Tesco's. I have been a Tesco Clubcard member for over 5 years and have enjoyed the rewards that come with being a Clubcard member.
It used to be that you would collect 1 point for ever £1 spent in Tesco. However, in the last 6 to 12 months Tesco now offer customers 2 points for every £1 spent on groceries. There are also other ways to collect Clubcard points and top up your balance. 100 points equates to £1.00 in vouchers.
You can collect Green Clubcard points for recycling products such as old mobile phones, both working and not working and printer ink cartridges. You can also collect Green Clubcard point when using your own bags at the check out. You typically get 1 point for every 1 bag you re-use.
You can collect points on fuel, spending money on a Tesco Credit Card, Tesco Direct, the list goes on and on. As well as collecting Clubcard points in Tesco, you can also collect Clubcard points with their affiliates such as Eon, the energy company.
So, you have now collected your points and Tesco have send you your vouchers in the post. Typically you can either use your vouchers in one of 2 ways, spend them at face value to get money of your shopping. The other way and the way I like to spend the vouchers is charge them for reward tokens. This way you convert your vouchers for rewards which are worth 3 times the value of the voucher. £10 of vouchers gets you £30 of reward tokens. You used to get 4 times the value.
The rewards list is endless, you can have days out at theme parks, a ride on the London Eye, stay at hotels, such as Hilton and Magazine subscriptions to name a few. The rewards scheme is similar to the one Nectar offer, but I believe that the Tesco scheme is more superior and from my experience you do not have to collect as many points to get the rewards.
I can't rate this scheme highly enough. I have and will continue to recommend it to friends.
Summary: A great loyalty scheme
