Further to an earlier op, you can make the Tesco points and vouchers system work to your advantage even further. We also use the Tesco Personal Finance Visa for our weekly shop, but also buy our fuel (frequently on Double Points) at the Tesco garage - some may find they earn more points on fuel than on groceries. Any extras we may need during the week grocery-wise are also whacked onto the card, no matter how small the value - it all adds up.

Also, any larger purchases made are worth putting on the Visa - you get the points wherever you shop, not just at Tesco - plus you get to keep your money in the bank for that little bit longer !

Provided you are paying off your total balance when your payment is due, you get loads of extra points at the end of the quarter, and these are redeemed in very useful money vouchers which are valid for ages. And you're not restricted to spending these in store - their Clubcard deals are excellent - you can redeem your vouchers against holidays, rail & air travel, family days out etc etc . This year we used less than half our vouchers to join the RAC - joint cover !
