Advantages: Easy to apply online, 6 months APR

Disadvantages: fee for balance transfers, online banking not great.

I applied for a tesco credit card for two reasons: to get the six months interest free credit to pay of a current card and so i could earn more tesco clubcard points. I filled in the online application and got a decision straight away. The whole process was easy and secure. All i then had to do was print off the forms, sign them and send them away. I did this, and received my card within two weeks, which i felt was a really good service.

One point i would make is that whilst they state it is 0% on balance transfers, Tesco still charge you a 2% of this balance when you initially transfer it. I have had other 0% cards and this did not happen.

So far, i have been happy with the service from Tesco - they seem quite security conscious and rang when i put a large sum on the card just after receiving it.

However, one of the reasons another reason i purchased the card was because of the internet banking. I have found this a long process to register, and have now found i can only view my balance, not transfer money/ pay my bill online, even though the online example suggests you can.

Summary: Tesco Credit Card - good service, although internet banking site could be better
