Advantages: Tesco club card, No fee
Disadvantages: Impossible to do business with
I have used Tesco Visa Card since it's inception.
Then they decided to change my house number to 144 from 177. Why and how is probably a testimoney to total incompetence. A bill went astray. They charged me a late payment fee plus interest. They admitted their fault but didn't refund the fee and despite five requests never gave me a copy of the errant bill so that I could check it.
Eventually I returned my card in pieces and asked them to return the positive balance of £46 ON MY ACCOUNT. They expressed their sorrow but have failed to return the £46. I tried taking out a new card to spend the balance but despite assurances that it would arrive in a few days it never did.
Currently I am trying to find the name of their MD so that I can take legal action against the company. I have never yet had to work so hard to get some semblance of justice against such a totally incompetent company.
Steer clear of them they are far too much trouble to justify any percieved advantage.

- 16/04/02 Sorry you seem to have had trouble with TFP, I worked for the group for 11 years and after Sir Iain departed from the company you could tell the way the business waas run from a management point of view. Terry is Chief but John has always, in my opinion, dealt with any issues speedily. Can't say I'm surprised though, I don't even have a clubcard now and with the recent survey of top 100 companies to work for, Tesco got 100 Th, Asda No.1...speaks for itself....used to be the opposite way around...As an Ex-manager the number of people I dealt with who had justifiable complaints was unacceptable. Hope you get assistance soon. |
