I read once in a saving website that one should not get loyalty card that should be bought, and although The Body Shop Love Your Body Card is one of these, I still buy it every year. Only recently, this card became available online too so you don't even have to visit the shop to get it and you receive it in a separate envelope.

The Body Shop Love Your Body Card, the green card you see in the picture, has on the back of it: eight hearts, a birthday cake, your name, your date of birth, the card number, and the expiry date. It can be bought from store or online as a part of your order, but, as I mentioned earlier, it comes in a separate envelope.

To begin with, the eight hearts refer to the purchases you make; every time you make a purchase more than £10 one of the hearts is marked till you reach the fourth heart where you get a £5 free gift from the Body Shop with your purchase. The same happens with the last four hearts with the only difference that the free gift in the eighth heart becomes £10 retail value. Of course, this means you have to buy products from the Body Shop with at least £90 eight different times to get £15 off, but there is more to this card than just this.

The sign of the birthday cake on your card along with your date of birth refers to the £5 retail value birthday gift you get from the Body Shop if you visit the store during your birthday month. Well, this is how you make sure you get back the £5 you paid for the card.

This is basically what you get from this card as gifts from the Body Shop, and of course it can be used both in store and online once you make an account and give your card number. However, the best thing about this card has to be the 10% member discount you get with every purchase you make. This is so good considering how expensive some of the products in the Body Shop are.

However, you should not be tempted to buy this card except if you are a very loyal customer of the Body Shop. Paying £5 as a loyalty card for someone who visits the store once or twice a year and makes small purchases is just a waste of money. For those who visit the store regularly, like me, this card is great and, I admit, it makes you feel less guilty when you pamper yourself with these fruity products from the Body Shop.
