A good card for bad credit history (Vanquis Credit Card)

Advantages: Rebuilds credit history

I've had a Vanquis Card for almost 3 years now. I new I had patchy credit and had been turned down by other lenders so I was delighted when I was accepted. Initially I had a credit limit of only £250, but after a few months I was upgraded to £500, then £1250 and I'm now on £2000. I've now been upgraded to the Gold Card. I've also seen my Experian score move from 500 to 800 in that time period, so it does work.
Yes the interest is very high, but all "bad credit" credit cards are.
They are always helpful on the phone, although they do try and sell you add-on products every so often (insurance, credit checking).
There is also a lack of online managment, which is my only major gripe.
Those complaining about the charges have to understand that lending to people with poor credit history is high risk, so charges are higher. If you want low rates, you need a good credit history.
To sum up, if you have a checkered credit history, it's a good card to go for so long as you don't overspend and can meet the repayments.
