Advantages: The 6-month interest-free rate

Disadvantages: MBNA!

Good old Virgin - a dependablle brand, well trusted and loved, with empowered, friendly staff and a good set of standards for customer service...shame they outsource their credit card services to MBNA. When I applied for my credit card, it was because I needed one to secure a hire car abroad (Lord knows why), but what transpired was that the right paperwork got lost in their systems, so while I'd been rung up and told my card was "being processed and on its way", it then transpired 2 weeks later that they'd failed to send me some paperwork I needed to actually receive the card. It took me about 2 hours' worth of phonecalls to finally get them to agree to put me through to a manager, by which point I was really in need of the card with my holiday (and Christmas) approaching. In the end, thankfully, they pulled strings and released my card on an 'accelerated' basis, so thankfully it all ended OK. But what a palava. I shan't touch MBNA with a bargepole again, and I don't think Virgin should risk damaging their brand by associating with them.

Summary: Shame that Virgin have damaged the integrity of what they're offering by doing it through MBNA

I wouldn't say Virgin could be classified as being "well trusted and loved" if they put their name to a product as poor as this?
