Cath Kidston Bubbles Crush Mug
by anwar7 I love buying mugs and have quite a large collection! I also love the British designer Cath Kidston so when I visited the Cath Kidston shop in Oxford it was no surprise that I came out with two new brightly coloured mugs! Before I tell you about my lovely new mugs, let me tell you a bit about Cath Kidston. Cath Kidston is a British ... designer who produces a range of items including clothing, china, bags and outdoor accessories to name a few. The designs are very distinctive and once you become familiar with her designs you will be able to spot one a mile off! Back to my mugs! The mugs have a design known as bubbles although they look like spots of various sizes The spots are yellow, red, blue and pink. The mugs can hold 18 ozs so are much larger than normal sized mugs. This really suits me especially in the morning when I love my large mug of tea! The handle of the mug is also quite large making it easy to hold. The china is good quality and despite daily use has no chips. I have owned these mugs for several months now and have washed them every day in the dishwasher. The spots are still brightly coloured and they show no signs of fading. I paid £5 each for my mugs which is probably more than average. However I think these mugs are worth every penny as the design is lovely and bright, the size generous and the china of good quality. These mugs plus other designs are available from several retailers in addition to Cath Kidston stores and web site. Read the complete review |

Cath Kidston Bubbles Crush Mug
by Whizz11 I love collecting mugs and I also love Cath Kidston prints so the newest purchase I have made is her bubble crush mug. Cath Kidston is a British designer who produces a range of accessories, clothing, homewares and outdoor products. She has a very nostalgic, romantic look to her fabrics and designs and although not for everyone she has a ... look that I love and I really enjoy the choice across her stores and website. I would describe her look as quite homely and pretty and something generally women like more than men. I would describe this mug as a spotty mug rather than having bubbles on it.The nug has a white background and then lots of different coloured spots on it of different sizes. The colours include yellow, blue, pink and red and they are really bright, colourful and inviting. I actually got this mug as a bit of a joke as my little girl is really into the Mr Tumble Something Special show on CBeebies and in it he likes everything spotty, especially his spotty bag. This mug is the closest thing I could find to a Mr Tumble spotty item, even though its not a bag but I bought it as my husband and I always joke about having a spotty mug! The mug itself is nice and big and the perfect size in my opinion and always provides me with a good cup of tea. The top is a bit wider than the bottom and is a shape of mug I like. I am quite fussy about my mugs and like different ones at different times of the day or for different drinks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc (is that weird or is everyone else like this) but this is one of the mugs I like pretty much all the time. The handle is thin but sturdy and big enough to hold with your whole hand. The mug is 100% fine china and is dishwasher safe although I have never but mine in a dishwasher as I don't own one (much dishwasher is called my husband!!) so I can't comment on how it holds up in a dishwasher. It is not safe for microwaves though. Its a nice cheery mug to have and one I don't mind giving to guests either who always comment on how cute it is. All Cath Kidston's mugs are reasonably priced for their nice designs and this one is just £5 which I think is a good price for a good quality mug. I got mine from John Lewis but you can buy direct from her website too. Read the complete review |

Cath Kidston Dotty Crush Mug
by kama0529 I have a number of Cath Kidston items dotted around my home, purchased largely because I like the simple traditional designs, but also because, on the whole, the items appear to be good quality. I have 12 mugs which are various Cath Kidston designs, three of which are the Cath Kidston Dotty Crush Mug design. I have had the Dotty Crush ... Mugs for about six months and they cost me £5.00 each direct from the Cath Kidston shop in Cheltenham. I do appreciate that you can get mugs for less, but my experience with Cath Kidston mugs is that they do last and that they are pretty - and so I'm willing to pay this amount for what I want. This mug is made out of bone china as opposed to porcelain, and as such, it has the advantage of being whiter, lighter and less brittle. Where possible I do try to buy bone china for my kitchenware as it is a better quality and I fine it lasts longer and with less staining than other materials. It can be put into the dishwasher without any concerns and I have washed our mugs in the diswasher for the last six months without incident. The design hasn't faded over this time and the mugs, inside and out, have stayed white and stain free. The design itself is simple, yet pretty. The main body of the mug itself and the handle is a lovely clean white, and then there is a thin border around the top of the mug which is a lovely baby blue. There are then baby blue polka dots scattered over the surface of the mug. The blue and the white complement each other very well and the design overall looks traditional, simple and non-gimicky. This mug also comes in pink where the pink replaces the blue rim and polka dots - but for my taste, the blue just looks classier. The mugs are a good size and I would estimate slightly larger than the average mug. They hold about 350ml of fluid and so this makes a decent size cup of coffee. The lightness of the bone china and the thin tapering of the handle make the mugs comfortable to hold. Overall, I do recommend this mug for anyone who likes traditional designs and high quality china. I have seen them for a cheaper price recently on Amazon and so it's worth keeping an eye out for them. Read the complete review |
