Cath Kidston Stars Crush Mug
by brady58 I work part time in an office and I like to have my own mug and plate to use. This is my second Cath Kidston mug that I bought for the office as the first one got smashed. I bought it because a colleague told me that a shop in town was selling Cath Kidston mugs half price for only £2.50. I gave her my money and asked her to pick me one ... up on her lunch break as I had to stay in the office to finish some work. When she came back with the mug I was initially disappointed as I thought it looked a little gaudy especially compared to my previous one which had a beautiful vintage pattern on it. The pattern on this one is brightly coloured stars and while it is nice enough looking it isn't really up to the standard of some of her other patterns at least in my opinion. As a mug it is really good quality and is made from china. It isn't as delicate as some china however and can withstand the knocks and bumps it will get from daily use such as when washing and drying it. You do need to be a little careful as although it isn't thinly made it is still china at the end of the day and will smash if dropped. It is a lovely big size of mug where you can be sure you are going to get a decent sized mug of tea or coffee out of it instead of a thimble sized amount. There is something really nice about drinking tea out of a china mug but for some reason I am not as keen drinking coffee out of it as I preferably like drinking coffee out of a thick chunky cup. The china does do a really good job of insulating the hot drinks inside it and I am a fan of the handle which looks delicate but is actually really sturdy and secure. Although I am not the biggest fan of the pattern it is distinctive and it is bright and vibrant. Even though it is used on a regular basis and washed constantly the pattern is still holding up really well and hasn't faded and gone dingy. You can either hand wash or else put it in the dishwasher. Had I been to the shop myself I might not have picked this particular pattern but it is modern and would appeal to people who maybe think that Cath Kidston's more traditional patterns and a little twee. Cath Kidston Stars Crush Mug
by neon_heaven76 I love Cath Kidston, vintage prints and styles are something I love and I have a huge range of Cath Kidston things in my house, I may be a little obsessed hehe. I have loads of these mugs all in different designs and this is one of the designs I have so I'll do my review for them all here. Firstly these are big mugs, if like me ... you love a good cuppa you will certainly get your fill from one of these as they hold 500ml! The mugs are fine china which depending on how clumsy you are, can be a bad thing because I have found they break easily and I've shattered around 5 of these mugs but as they are so pretty I buy them again. They are around £5 each which I feel is a fair price for a Cath Kidston mug and you can pick them up in a few different places, Cath Kidston store, Cath Kidston online and Waitrose to name a couple so you should be able to get one easily. The handles are a good size, I can hold the mug comfortably while full of tea and so can my husband, a lot of china mugs and cups never seem to fit a man's hands so this is a nice change. The mugs are also dishwasher and microwave safe so these retro little pretties fit nicely into modern life. Read the complete review |

Cath Kidston Stars Crush Mug
by nimnim Amazing star mug - currently unavailable on the Cath Kidston website (The same style mug with a different design is currently £5 on-line) The mug itself is Dishwasher & Microwave safe - however for me I am sorry to say it was not get knocked of the kitchen side safe. I am a massive fan of all things Cath ... Kidston, and was bought a gift of a set of four of these mugs as a house warming gift. I prefer to have my coffee served in a mug lovingly referred to by my work colleagues as a 'bucket' which is why they bought me these. The mug itself is made of fine bone chine, and will hold 400ml, or 14 oz. Because the mugs are made of fine bone china this means that they will hold this amount of liquid without being too heavy - and it does to tend to keep my drinks nice and warm for a long time. This particular design in plain white with bold coloured stars covering it... These mugs are so lovely, and are available in a range of different patterns. The cowboy crush design used to decorate a colleagues mattress fabric years ago, which is what sparked the craze in my office. The range has something to suit every bodies tastes, as they have them in the beautiful floral designs that are so synonymous with Cath Kidston. Read the complete review |
