I am an avid tea drinker - we're talking 5+ cups of tea a day without fail. I work a lot so it does obviously depend on how much time I have but often when I am doing my childcare jobs I sneak in a cup of tea or two.
As well as drinking a lot of tea I own an awful lot of mugs. I have this weird theory that different shaped mugs suit different tea drinking moods. For example in the morning I like a really tall mug as these insulate the heat better and this wakes me up. In the afternoon I like a really wide mug because this holds more tea and also it cools more quickly so it's relaxing to drink. Sounds mental but I swear by it.
I bought this mug from the Cath kidston outlet in Bicester. If you haven't been to Bicester it is just outside Oxford and basically like a massive retail outlet. It's kind of set up like a village which is pretty cool but basically they have designer and known brand shops that sell last season things for dead cheap. The Cath Kidston store was cool because most things were half price but her things don't exactly go out of season so everything was a real bargain. This mug retails at £5.00 but I got it for half price, £2.50 is pretty good for a decent mug!
The actual mug is ceramic with different coloured and sized polka dots on it. These are very colourful and decorative and though a simple design it looks very stylish. Though I love the floral designs you get at Cath Kidston I love this bubble mug because it is totally unisex and appropriate for all tea or coffee lovers. It also has a slight sheen to it which gives it a super really smooth feeling all over and makes it nice to hold.
The handle has enough room for you to loop your fingers through without crushing them. The mug is circular all the way round and then tapers towards the bottom of the mug. It is made from relatively thin china but still feel pretty good quality and also insulates my tea well. It has also really stood the test of time for me and after a year of washes it is still pretty pristine.
I really love this mug because of the size of the cup and thus the amount of tea it can hold. I also think the thin china keeps the tea super hot and warms the cup up, great for winter! It also cools quite quickly making it both a good morning cup and a good afternoon mug for me.
I am glad I managed to get this in a half price sale but I would definitely also be happy to pay a little bit extra for a good quality mug like this.
Overall, a lovely mug that keeps me warm in winter.
Summary: A lovely mug I enjoy using.
