Advantages: Lovely pattern, Decent price for a Cath Kidston product

Disadvantages: None

I bought this gorgeous mug from John Lewis instore just before last christmas in the sale, as it was reduced from £5 to £2.50 - this is a definate bargain considering it's a Cath Kidston product!

I was first attracted to it because it's so unique looking. It reminds me a bit of primary school due to the bright colouring of it and the fact that the stars aren't perfectly printed on and look more hand-drawn on, which adds to the whole look - it's very shabby chic in my opinion. The background of the mug is white, with stars in a variety of colours and sizes. There's green, yellow, red, blue and pink, all of which are spread around the entire mug. Underneath the mug is cath kidston's signature, proving it's authentic and not a cheap copy.

I'd say the main market for this product is women however i don't see any reason why a man wouldn't like it. The handle of the mug is white and rounded, with plenty of room, making it easy to wrap my hand around it and pick it up.

The mug is solid and made of bone china. Unlike most bone china products, which i've found to be usually more lightweight, it's quite heavy and is nice and sturdy - not at all fragile. The mug is quite chunky and is generous in size - it can hold 500ml of liquid, which is great for me and any fellow coffee lovers because the mug of coffee seems to last for ages!

Because the mug's white, it's easy for coffee stains to be left behind, however the mug is fine to go into the dishwasher or alternatively can ofcourse be handwashed - both of these methods always gets rid of stains, it's also microwave safe and i find myself often sticking some milk and hot chocolate mix into it and putting it in the microwave rather than faffing about with the kettle.

Overall it was a great buy, and even at £5 i think it's a bargain as mine has lasted for a while now and is good quality - no fading or chipping etc. It's lovely and i've found it brightens up my mug cupboard. It'd be ideal for a house warming/wedding gift etc as it's good quality and the fact it's a cath kidston product will ensure most people will love it!

The mug is available on Amazon either invidually or in a set of 4, individual mugs are also available widely on the internet and instore at a variety of shops, including John Lewis. Prices for individual mugs vary from £4-£8 and for a set of 4 from Amazon it's £16 with £5 shipping, so overall it'd be best to buy instore at a shop which sells them.

Summary: Unique Mug
