      A lovely kids mug

Harry does love a cup of tea in the evenings, and now he's a big six and a half year old, he doesn't like using a plastic cup anymore. I have however found that most china mugs are too big for him, he never drinks it all, and he's more prone to spillage with a big cup too. I hunted high and low for somewhere that would sell cups suitable, until I stumbled across Paperchase. We've just had a big Paperchase store open up in my town (not good for my bank balance!) and they stock everything, from the expected stationery to bits and bobs for the home too. I found a gorgeous Christmas mug in there last year which started my Paperchase cup obsession, and just the other day, I couldn't resist picking up this cup too!

The thing I love about these cups is that they come in a gorgeous printed box too, which makes them an ideal gift, especially at times like Christmas where these things are a perfect stocking filler. Harry's cup from last year is gorgeous, white and covered in festive patterns, and I thought it couldn't be beaten this year! This cup is gorgeous, the small size which is perfectly suited to Harry's age, and for adults who only like a small hot drink too... I often find they are the right size for a hot chocolate for me too, especially at night when I don't want a huge drink. It stands at about 9cm high with a good sized handle on the side too which is white like the interior of the mug.

As you can see from the picture, it is perfectly decorated all around, and as with all Paperchase products this is done to a really high standard. This particular design is called "Stitched Christmas Ruby Mug", and is a blue background on a white fine porcelain cup, with various festive themes images dotted around the outside of it. The blue of the background is lovely, not a dark navy blue but a nice hue that really brings out the white and red of the other images. Pictures on the cup include a polar bear, a reindeer, gingerbreak man, christmas tree and penguin amongst others. Young children will love the pictures on the outside of it, but it looks cute and kitsch for older owners too.

Harry has used this cup loads of times in the week or so since he has had it and it shows no sense of wear and tear at all, despite being not-so-gently placed in the sink by him, and being washed by me countless times! According to their website, this cup is dishwasher safe, although I can't comment on this as I sadly don't own a dishwasher! It's microwave safe too but again I can't comment on that. However, his cup from last year was put through my parent's dishwasher last Christmas and survived perfectly, so I would imagine this would be the same. It's a sturdy feeling mug that manages to be light and usable at the same time, and I am more than happy for Harry to use this mug for his tea! It's a great size for young children, and there are so many fun designs available, there is certainly something there to suit everyone... I just picked this one because of the season! Best of all, it's only £6 which is a bargain for such a quality product, I'll be on the lookout for more Paperchase mugs in the future, for both Harry and I.

      Price: £6.
