Pyrex is a range of cookware and ovenware that we havea lot of in our house and we have been using it for all the time we have been married and the other half was using it even before then!. One of the dishes in the range we have and use a lot is the Round Casserole Dish (and we also have the oval one too). This dish is made from thickened glass and is shock proof, stain proof, and heat resistant.
My other half uses it for cooking a wide range of food stuffs, not only casseroles but also things like pasta bakes (which both me and the little lad love at tea time) and other pasta and vegetable based dishes as well as sweet dishes such as crumbles and pies.
It is 1.7l in size so will hold a lot and the lid it comes with is a perfect fit and does not wobble around at all. It is made of high quality thickened glass and as Pyrex has been around since 1915 it is a brand I know and trust and I also remember my own mother using these dishes when I was living at home.
It is very heavy in weight and is very durable and I have knocked it about a fair few times over the years but so far it has not sustained any noticeable marks or knocks and the glass has not broken anywhere at all so it is very resiliant.
It can be either hand washed in warm soapy water or alternatively it can also be washed in a dishwasher (and it comes out looking lovely every time no matter what hard on food has been used in it) and it is also handy to know that it can also be used in a microwave. We also use this dish for freezing in the freezer - so you can see how adaptable it is!
Very much recommended.
