A nice, economical buy to cheer up any home!

I don't know about you but with christmas looming I get panicked about my home. Chances are people will pop round and I get the urge to revamp things and pep my pad up a bit and make it look a bit more cheerful and welcoming!

I already have a couple of dinner sets, one plain white one for every day use and a bright bold one that is for best and I never use it (?). I was browsing through my catalogues the other week and I found this set, with mugs (which is what I wanted) costing just £11.50 for a 16 piece set rather than usually costing £25.00 (very.co.uk and various other places if you google it stock this!).

This is available in two colour options. The sets are white with either a burgundy floral pattern or a blue one. I opted for the burgundy after much deliberation.

What you get is 4 dinner plates which measure 26.5 cms, 4 side plates which measure 19cms, four soup cereal bowls which measure 17.5cm and four mugs.

Each piece in pattern is pretty much the same. There is a vast area of white with a shiny pattern of flower/s on it, so like on the bowls theres is one flower, on the side plates 3, on the mugs one, dinner plates 2.... that sort of thing. All the pieces are well made, not too chunky and of what I consider to be a standard size. On the base of each piece we are told that they are Swan and that they are dishwasher safe and all in all these are not flimsy pieces but robust and I've had no problems with them at all.

Of course because of the pattern they are not microwave safe and nowhere am I told I can use them say in a oven to reheat food in/on but all in all I find these to be of excellent quality and like I say robust. They look pretty and modern, I like the mugs with them instead of cups and saucers...which really isn't very me at all and at the moment of writing this review on Very.co.uk not only is this set £11.50 but its on offer at buy one get one half price too!

A great cheerful buy and quality porcelain with a subtle hint of every day springtime! Lovely Swan!
