CTX VL710ST

When I came to buy my computer I went to a small computer systems shop in my home town and they gave me one very dood peice of advice, that was to buy a good monitor. They told me that if I bought a good quality monitor like the CTX range and looked after it, the monitor would last longer than the computer, and would not need to be replaced. The quality of the picture on my flat screen CTX is brillient and makes the best of DVD veiwing. The screen cost me around £350 I think. The ST in VL710ST stands for 'short tube' which is, in a nutshell, the best thing that this monitor has going for it. (The VL stands for 'value line' -- this isn't a monitor that is aimed at anyone doing professional quality graphics work.) It has a 17" screen, but has rather a smaller footprint than 17" monitors that I have used at work -- a boon to those of us with limited space at home for computer gunk. This is a nice monitor. 17" on the front you have buttons to alter the size of the picture. brightness, contrast, status and exit buttons. This monitor fully supports power management but I have it turned off. the same as my computer (don`t want it disappearing while playing a game with my joystick. Standard conection to your computer givein a good sharp picture in res:bets at 1024 * 768 and anywhere from 85hrz to 100hrz depending on your preference.
