Advantages: 88fps @1024 x 768
Disadvantages: two line which you have to look hard too see
Sony in my eyes have always been one of the best visuals/sound companys around for years there products are reliable and of good quality and I have had no quibbles or hesitations in purchasing one of there products. OK I will get on with the op now. Sony HMD A220 FD 17" Monitor is another new product which i have recently purchased. It is more than a standard monitor its good looking with a silver finish to the front. The screen is A flat Trinitron to say the least its that flat the screen seems to curve in rather than out. This is not a bad thing its soothing to the eyes you notice the diffrence immediatly the monitor is turned on and you bootup windows. It has a refresh rate of 88fps @ 1024 x 768. The next good thing to note is it has 5 usb ports 4 are for connecting your usb devices too and one at the back of the monitor which connects to your usb port on the back of your pc if you have one (if not the usb function on your monitor will not work but hey its still a great monitor).I have alot of usb devices and the monitor handles the lot no conflictions just works 100%. There are 2 buttons on the front of the monitor a power button and the control button which is a directional button its a bit fiddly but you don`t need to use it much once you set it to how you like it. On the top of the monitor is a slot large enough to place your cd case that you are using at the time in your cdrom drive(a bit sad really but hey someone got paid loads for that idea). The monitor does not have a swivel base like most. It has two legs on the front and an additional bit to place on the back to make it level which is what I have choose to do but it depends on your own preference. So all in all for the price which is around £270 you get a built in usb hub to your monitor and a flat screen which is far more cheaper than the wafer monitors and better for your eyes(being totally honest i have not seen much diffrence between this mo
nitor and the wafer monitors at twice the price).Go check out this Sony monitor im sure youll be impressed has good reviews everywhere even on dooyoo !!now!! he he . Last of all before i go there is one thing that you may not be too impressed about you may know as the screen is so flat you see 2 lines going horizontaly across the screen (approx 4" from the top and 4" from the bottom) THIS IS NOT A FAULT its the shadow of the wire that make the screen so flat and fine tuned and you only notice it on a plain white back ground and it does not interfear at all with your day to day operation of your pc its a small price to pay for up to date techy gadgets .
