Advantages: flat screen, inventive method of changing OSD

Disadvantages: resolution and refresh rate could be higher... no usb, no bnc

The Sony E200 is a FD tritron monitor meaning the screen is "completely" flat so u get no fish bowl effects of yester years monitors. It's designed is simple and sleek but nothing to go ranting and raving about.

It does boast a new method of controlling the OSD. Its called a mouse thing. Its basically a little joystick at the botton right of the screen which you can control in 4 directions and it can be pressed down to get in to the menus. Its sounds complicated to use but when you get your hand on this baby its flows like a river. Its very easy and simple to use, no more fluffing around with buttons. It is back with plenty of OSD options for you to adujust, but lacks some of the more advanced features like changing the colours in each of the 4 corners of the screen. It is at a very good price for what screen you buy in this area.

The focus and balance of this monitor is very good, text is very clear and pictures are amazing. It has a .24 aperature screen and so is very fine and easy on the eyes. It does offer a max resolution of 1600 x 1200 but at this the refresh rate can't sustain at 75Hx but drops to 60Hx so u can't use this in games, but this shouldn't matter too much for most ppl to use this monitor but it's ok for the occasional use at this resolution for a while but not recomment it for longer periods. and do u think you have a system that can run games at this mamoth resolution ahey way? if you do then why look at this monitor? go for a larger one.....

running it at all the other refresh rates is fine and perfrect in use.

All praise to this monitor, and it carries the Sony brand name at the front of the monitor to shine its class. Very nice. But some but very minor niggles, they could have included a usb option and bnc to it but these are lacking, but for the price u pay its a must buy if your looking for a quality monitor.

Very flat and sexy (2 words i would never put together!) wel
l not quite sexy but very functional abeit with not enough high end refresh rates for 1600 x 1200 but you can always go for the G200, more expensive but if you'll benefit then go for it.

I prefer this over the highly acclaimed iiyamm vision master pro 410 and the rest of the competition. This was the current monitor i used but i am currently using a very good iiyama Vision Master pro 450 a fat 19" version of a flat screen. The OSD is no where near as fast to use as the Sonys one and does aggreivate me.

Remember always better to go for a better quality screen like this superb E200 then to go for a cheap 19", remember in the end quaily always pays off no matter what you buy and this is ur eyes we are talking about, u spend hours in front of one working so lets make your eyes happyer and buy a Sony E200.
