Advantages: Looks, 3 year warranty, Good price deals on internet

Disadvantages: High list price (shop around!), Mine has 2 faint lines across it

Before we start this product is very smart and has an excellent picture - better than any other monitor (including Flat Screen) I have used so far, but .....

The CRT design requires 2 wires to support the screen and this results in 2 very very faint lines on screen. Only really visible when the screen is white , they annoyed me for a couple of weeks but now I don't notice them. Recommend you see the monitor working before buying.

Sadly my original monitor failed and the warranty did not meet my expectations. A 3 year 'on-site exchange warranty' is promised in the documentation. In fact the exchange is for a refurbished monitor and only if they have a refurbished (identical) item in their workshop. The best Sony at Bridgend could do was offer a loan machine whilst my own was repaired. This would require me to take time off work on TWO occasions to wait in for couriers. Customer Service was generally a bit ropey - badly informed and a 'take it or leave it' attitude.

The warranty should make the terms and conditions clearer.

I complained to Staples (where I bought the monitor) and they located a replacement themselves for me - top marks for Staples !!!
