Toshiba 21S23 ... the picture quality is good, the TV picture is too large for the screen! Important text in credits and subtitles are often cropped on the left and right-hand size. Even worst, when Sky TV broadcasts its financial reports, the picture turns into wide-screen format, but the Toshiba does not adjust, and you loose even more of the picture. Unforunately there is no menu option to correct this, and Toshiba technical support have confirmed that there is no way to correct this. Toshiba 14N21 ... a small, cheap telly this is probably the best around. At ONLY £89.99 I couldn't resist - plus I needed a telly with a scart socket badly (my DVD player had sat there for months and I couldn't use it ? I was getting irritated) So I decided to take action and buy a new telly, a new experience for me as up until now I had just had the telly no-one else in the family wanted ? thus I ended up with the telly with no scart. Since the only requirement I had for my new telly was that there was a scart socket any new modern telly would have done, this was the cheapest and therefore was the one I finally settled on. The school at which I am employed is about a mile from the Toshiba factory responsible for television and video production for Europe. The factory one of the most significant local employers. As a Japanese owned company they have a reuptation for high expectations from employees but also for a high level of employee care.
