Advantages: stylish, great features , cheap

Disadvantages: very heavy

Its known as the Matrix, the Goodmans Matrix. I was fed up of the small dinky 8incher in the corner of my bedroom. Did wonders for my eyes, all that straining to see the screen.

I was unsure about what I wanted or how much to spend. My ideal dream was a 45" plasma screen mounted on my wall. However this is reality.

I was ready to spend about £150-200 and was expecting 15-20"s. Then as I walking through Safeway Supermarket(yeah I know---sorry!), I saw it, beaming through the aisles. The Tv was sat in on top of a mount and had a big price sticker saying £150!! I swear it twinkled at me!lol Im a sucker for this marketing rubbish!

Anyway, I went home and thought about it, and returned the next day to buy it. It was mine! The first problem was now. We have a large Mercedes and it was so difficult to fit the TV in the car. The Tv wouldn't fit in the boot, ... or the back seat... eventually it squeeeeezed into the passenger seat. It was so heavy too, weighing in at 33kg.

Problem over, but Im sure it would be a problem for a lot of other people too. Then once I got home, I took it to my room and unwrapped it. The old TV could find a new home, I had a new baby! It was so easy to start-up. I just plugged it in. The tuning was slightly complicated, but Im an absolute novice who is so slow at this. However, I found I had it done in less than 10 mins.

The picture was great- but thats due to the aerial. The thing that hits you though is its sheer size. Its enormous and is widescreen. The screen is 28". The dimensions are 480x740x540mm.

The features are great, they are described as follows, according to the booklet.
-it is a remote controlled colour television
-100programes from VHF,UHF band or cable channels can be preset
-it can tune cable channels
-controlling the TV is very easy by its menu driven system
-It has Euroconnector /RCA JACK socket for external devices (such as computer
, video, video games, audio set, etc)
-teletext
-all programmes can be named
-programme swapping between last watched two programmes
-forward or backward automatic tuning
-sleep timer
-automatic sound mute when no tansmission
-5minutes after the broadcasting (closedown), the TV switches itself automatically to stand-by mode.

The specifications, for anyone who is interested, and/or understands them are as follows(please don't ask me to understand them!):
~TV broadcasting- PALI/I'
~Receiving channels- VHF(BandI/III), UHF(BandU), Hyperband, Cable TV(S1-S20/S21-S41)
~Number of preset channels-100
~Channel indicator-On Screen Display
~RF aerial input-75Ohm (unbalanced)
~Operating voltage-230-240V AC, 50Hz
~Audio Output Power-2x8
~Power Consumption (W) (max.)-120
~Picture Tube-28"

So there you have it, cheap, easy to use, good size and features

Still, always was a shame I didn't get that plasma screen... maybe one day...
