Advantages: Good picture, Remote control

Disadvantages: Sound quality, plastic looking casing

With the arrival of Kami, we decided to get a spare TV for our Nursery at home.
It would only need to be very basic as it would be an entertainment source when she is getting a bit older.
When I say Basic, I mean cheap! After all, at a few months old, she is not going to be complaining about picture clarity, resolution and sound definition is she?
But hang on, the TV is now in OUR room due to its superb little features and quality of picture. Hats off to LG! Long have I mocked them but they really seem to have their act together at last when it comes to TVS!

Looks of this TV might let it down slightly. It is finished in the "polished silver" look that haunts so many homes today. Looks great now but dates so badly! Saying this, is does look very plasticy and cheap. It was so I have no issues with that!
The Shape is quite rounded for a modern TV. The tube is not flat. The bow shape to the front makes it look more like a goldfish bowl rather than a TV. However, at least people at the sides get a better view!

Looking at the features, it comes with auto searching channels which are preset. This means no more searchiing through trying to get a better Channel 4! It also has a handy built in alarm and clock which is easily programmable and loud to wake you up.
It also has a headphone socket for watching in silence, a Scart socket for hooking up to other AV equipment such as a DVD player or Video player and 2 speakers built in the sides at the front (even if they are a bit trebly).

Set up was quite simple. The installation guide that comes with it is explanitory if it is in about 16 languages! At least they include one!

Manual control comes from a set of 4 buttons on the front of the telly and a drop down door hiding some extra setting controls. Basically you could operate the TV if you lost the remote which is hadny to know. It also means Kami will have something to fiddle with when she is old enough to wor
k out what it is.

The remote control is normally the bug bear of cheaper appliances but this one is superb. Easy to use, great range of operation and comes with batteries included.

Picture quality is quite good giving the size and price of this TV. OK it is not superb quality but it is very good for its money. The resolution is sharp and the depth of colour fantastic.
The only thing that may let it down is the buzz and hum that the speakers generate when you turn it up loud. Something in the chassis is obvoiusly not built for vibration.

Overall, it is a great TV for £70. I would recommend you buy one if you want a cheap portable colour TV with a remote. You wont find better.
