We bought our Philips 28PW6515 last October from a local Philips dealer. It was part of a package that included a video & DVD player. We set it all up & switched on - immediately, I noticed that the right hand side of the picture was distorted. It looked like those blind spot mirrors you can buy for your car. I also noticed a white "halo" across the bottom of the picture. I rang the dealer & they sent out 2 engineers to have a look at it, but they couldn't fix it. I couldnt get the halo to appear when the engineer came out (typical). Anyway, the result was that the manager of the store offered a replacment, but unfortunately, there were no more ... Some time ago I used to work in a Philips dealership as a tv technician, and have always regarded Philips as a very good quality product, not on this occasion though. The tv it self is a good looker, the virtual pro-lgic sound is very good also. The one main thing to let this tv down is the appalling geometry of the picture. On the right hand of the screen there is a problem which causes the picture to be distorted. When watching football, for instance, when the picture pans from side to side, any body on the right of the picture appears very thin as they disappear of the edge of the picture. Another thing is as things move from one side ... Read the complete review

I bought my philips 28pw6515c a few weeks ago from comet for £460 (special online deal) and overall I'm very satisfied with it. The picture is generally sharp and clear and the different preset modes of brightness/contrast etc. really help if you need to change the picture quickly. The auto tuning rapidly took care of all the 5 channels and sorted them correctly too. The sound performance is generally very good, especially the virtial dolby pro-logic which really makes a difference (compared to other sets I've seen), providing a very satisfying immersing quality. There are only two scart inputs (one RGB capable) but as I ... Read the complete review

I bought the TV without a stand and placed it on top of an existing wooden cabinet. It looks good and the picture is noticably bigger than the 25inch 4:3 it replaces. Of course it is wider on the outside but otherwise not much taller or deeper than the old set i.e a bigger picture without taking up too much room and dominating the room. For the £470 I paid to 24x7electrical the sound it very good, the set is easy and intuitive to use. I have never heard real Dolby surround sound with extra speakers, and I expect the three built in speakers are a far way from the real thing, but the simulated Dolby when switched on can make a difference worth having. ... There is a serious manufacturer's fault with this TV. I had mine for 18 months and then suddenly it started changing the channel to one of the external (SCART) channels by itself. It also keeps flicking backwards and forwards between channels, so yo can't watch TV through the video. And to make things worse Phillips have run out of the part they need to fix it. I'm left staring at a dead TV with no guaranteed date of repair. Stay away from this TV!!!! ... Read the complete review
