Advantages: Stylish, size, Performance
Disadvantages: Non Yet
The time had come for us to replace the television in our bedroom, after searching through the internet and visiting many electrical outlets, we decided on the Sony KV21CT1U television. We bough is from curry’s for £199.99.
So what does this Television offer you?
The most important thing is how does my television look, this particular one I would say is very stylish and elegant, it’s a stylish silver colour. Being a small flat screen TV it takes up very little room:
Dimensions:
Height-461
Width -497
Depth -487
Screen size of 21 inches (51cm)
When you open the rather big box, you will find the following inside:
1x Remote Control
1x 2 packet battery
1x Loop aerial
1x Intensive instruction guide
1x Guarantee card
Setting the TV up:
Auto Tuning: Simply plug the TV in attach your ariel and let the machine do the searching, after a few minutes you will be able to check what channels the TV has found. You will notice that the TV stores the channels in the order it finds them. I.e. if finds channel 4 first then it would be stored on channel 1 slot. This is easy to sort out, you just need select the menu and then by using the programme sort function you will store them in there correct places. So that the TV up and running, But functions are on this TV.
Features:
Fast Text
A great feature here, this allows you to look up information through your TV (subject to coverage). The great thing about fast text is that you have all those coloured buttons which allows you to navigate a lot quicker through the teletext pages. We personally use these buttons a lot. You are able to store up to 7 pages, This is great if you wanna jump between different pages,
Parental Lock
This allows you to lock the buttons on your TV, another great feature that most of Sony TV’s come with. In case you’re not familiar with this feature. It allows you to lock the buttons on your TV, this stops the little ones pressing buttons and only you can remove the lock.
Connecters
This model only has one scart, but to be honest this is more than enough for us as we only have our DVD to plug in. Should you want more than one scart lead to be connected to this TV you can easily but a scart multiplier, This is a device that allows you to put up to 4 scarts in to the TV, all you need to do is press the button on the device to let it know what scart you want to use. (Available from Argos £5approx)
MiniJack, This is another great feature of this superb television, You can plug headphones direct in to the TV set, having this feature is great especially when the football is on and my wife does not want to hear it.
Sleep Timer
This allows you to set the TV to turn off automatically. All you need to do is select the sleep function, by pressing the button so many times you will see the number on the screen,
I.E
Press once you’re TV will go off in 15mins
Press Twice your TV will go off in 30mins
Press three times your TV will go off in 45mins
Hope you get the picture, 15 minute interval to a max of 120mins (2hrs). So next time you plan to watch that late film use this timer and you will know that the TV will be off after you fall asleep. Oh and you save money on the electricity bill.
Auto Noise Reduction
If your signal is weak and there is a little noise (fuzz) this feature tries its beast to eliminate the sound.
Audio
This is provided through one speaker that is situated at the bottom left at you look at it, The sound quality is of high standards, to be honest I would not expect anything else from a Sony product.. The television sound is in MONO.
I have taken the next few lines direct from the manual,
Power output (Music) (L,R) (W): 1x6
Power output (RMS) (L,R) (W) : 1x3
Sound system Mono
The Remote Control
My favourite part of the TV, it’s a simple design here. Grey in colour and no longer than 21cm. The buttons are all positioned excellent with all the most used buttons raised slightly. On the remote control you will find that you can control the TV, from changing the contrast, adjusting the volume, looking up text, tuning in a new device, and even using that great sleep timer. The menus are very easy to use, by simply selecting the menu button you are greeted with a variety of options on screen, just choose the option applicable and follow on screen instructions. Bonus with this menu is that if you get stuck you are able to get more information from the TV set. Example if you select the fine tuning function you are warned what you are doing “Fine tuning will adjust your picture”
Picture Quality
Sony is well known for the picture quality and there is no difference on this TV, It may only be 50hrtzs but it produces an amazing picture for such a small TV. This may be helped with the fact it is a flat screen model.
A little advice on the guarantee card that you get in the box, if you complete this and post it back to Sony you will be added to there mailing list and will receive a lot of useless mail junk. When you buy this TV from an electrical outlet you will still get your guarantee.
On ending this review I can honestly say that this TV is fantastic, I would certainly recommend it to anyone. I love this television so much, its very stylish and looks the part in my room.
Thanks for reading my review
