I think there must be a batch fault with the PAL DRCs or else DRC does not work with PAL. I contacted the central support via the web and they said DVDs will NOT show any difference as it only works with analog signals so the local Sonys are either ignorant or misleading. I bought this model a couple of months ago and it was installed by Sony. The reason I bought it was because I wanted the DRC (Digital Reality Creation) technology it promises. Sadly I could not detect any difference when switching between the three modes (normal, 50 hz DRC and 100 Hz DRC). The 50 Hz mode is actually unwatchable due to the high flicker. When I contacted my local Sony centre they agreed there is no difference between DRC100 and Normal and that the DRC50 is nauseous but OK for fast action like sport. (It isn't.)
