Even though this is a 4:3 set, the 16:9 picture it produces is approximately 38 inches whereas if you purchased a similar sized widescreen RPTV you would only get a 30 inch 4:3 picture. I purchased this TV about 18 months ago from a small local retailer in my town who matched the best Internet price I could find.
