Kitchen Craft Colourworks Multi-Purpose Paring Knife

I have to admit that although I love cooking I am a liability when it comes to sharpening knives. I have tried steels, and gadgets that should make it easy... However I always end up injuring myself. As such I concluded that the bast way forward for me was cheaper knives (so I could just buy more)...

I have since picked up two of these knives. The first before Christmas for £3.99, and the second in the sales for only £1. (They are purple, and blue however they both function in exactly the same way)...

I was a bit sceptical about these knives thinking they would be really blunt, and the colour would flake from them, however having so few shops available in the small town I live in I had to kind of 'suck it up' as my other kitchen knives are so blunt...

These knives are 10cm long, and have a 5 year guarantee, which for the price paid seems to be a good deal.

I find these knives to be comfortable to hold as they have an indentation placed perfectly to place me index finger in, when clasping the handle... (I am a woman so this may be different for men who have bigger hands)... The handle itself has no grip on it though, which could prove to be 'slippy' if your hands were wet (it hasn't posed such a problem so far but it could)...

Each of the blades is nice and strong no bending or wobbles have occurred, and they have managed well at cutting things of an appropriate size - I point this out as I got one wedged in a giant potato the other day - but to be fair I have always been taught the knife should be long enough to come out the other side of what you were cutting, and I should have thought this through before tackling the GIANT potato...

Neither of these blades has scratched at all, and I find the protective case for the blade to be useful. I keep my knives in a drawer, and I do utilise the case for them. Although I try to be careful with them, I have a bit of paranoia about it - thinking that if I were to put the dirty knife in them and a bit of 'chicken' (or just general germ riddled bit of 'stuff') were to come off there is no way of scrubbing the inside of the case...

A really good knife for the price paid - highly recommended.

Summary: For the price super sharp
