I do try and get maximum value for my money and there are certain items that I just wouldn't pay a lot for when a cheaper brand would do just as good a job. Nearly everything I have bought for both mine and the childrens bikes have come from a so called budget ranges with the exception of our helmets which I do think it pays to spend a little more on.

My bike lights came from argos and they only cost me £8.99 although when I bought a set previously they were only £7.99 so they have gone up in price. Still anything less than a tenner is fantastic value in my book.
For the money you get two lights for the front and back of your bike. The front light is white and the one that is supposed to go on the back of the bike is red.

The lights themselves are quite compact and light and fit on to the bike really easily and quickly. To place them on the bike you just need to clip them in to place and when on they are fairly secure and this has the added benefit of making them easy to take with you when you park up to stop people stealing them.
The light that is omited from them is fairly bright especially considering the size of them. I find that it is perfectly adequate for me to be on the road and still feel secure that cars will be able to see me from a distance. I do also use another small reflector as well but this is because I am extra cautious.

Each light needs 2 AAA batteries in them to work and Argos do supply 4 of them. I found that the batteries that were supplied didn't really last very long before I had to replace them but once I had replaced them with decent batteries they have lasted me for a few months so far and that is with using my bike quite regularaly.

The Argos bike lights are great for the money. They may not be as bright as some of the higher end lights on the market but they are perfectly fine for most situations and I always feel secure with the level of brightness that they offer.
