Advantages: Very secure. Visual deterrent because of the yellow. Lifetime warranty. Excellent aftersales.
Disadvantages: It's not a cheap lock... Although you get what you pay for.
I have been using Kryptonite locks for YEARS. In particular I have been using my New York 3000 since they were released in the UK.
When I take this lock with me I feel safe knowing when I come back my bike is still going to be there due to that Kryptonite is one of the best known lock manufacturers on the market.
The product is well made and I have had no problems with the barrel jamming or the cover skin coming off like with some cheaper locks. You get 3 keys, one of which lights up and you can get replacement ones cheaply if you register the lock.
Previously I would have said that the frame mounting bracket for the lock sucks, but they have updated it with a much better one.
When you lock the bike up there are good rules to follow which you can look up on You Tube, they will help the lock to safeguard your bike even better and I would suggest using either another D-Lock to protect the front wheel or one of Kryptonite's "Kryptoflex" cables in conjunction with this lock.
Additionally my girlfriend has the next lock down from this and when she broke the dust cover Kryptonite sent me a replacement for free and so I will always use their products!
Summary: I trust this lock with my bike. That's all the recommendation you should need!
