“ Brand: Polaris / Type: Cycling jacket „
I bought this product around three years ago from Halfords for around £25. For that price I was able to take home the jacket and a very handy mesh carrying bag. At twenty five pounds this product came in at slightly more than I really wanted to pay but I thought that I would shell out this money in the hope that this small jacket would prove to be made very well and make a worthy investment.
---THE CARRYING BAG---
So I will start off with this mesh bag that you can carry the jacket around in when you are not wearing it. The bag is yellow like the jacket so it is hard to misplace which is very handy. There is a black toggle catch on the bag with a drawstring that easily holds the bag together and the jacket inside. As the bag is mesh it is easy to dry out when it gets wet and the overall size of the jacket and bag is very small and impressive to say the least. It is very handy to take with you on a cycle ride as it can easily fit in the back pocket of a cycling top or inside a Camelbak.
Being a cycling jacket this product is longer at the back than the front so that it fits you better when cycling. Due to this excellent design the jacket doesn't make your belly look fat when you lean over on even a road bike but still covers the entirety of your back from the rain and spray. So that you can easily be seen this Polaris jacket is a very bright yellow, and it also has a small triangular shape on the back of it that is made of reflective material for extra visibility.
Like the bag this jacket is very thin and easily rolls up very small so that it is really easy to transport. Despite being thick it will protect you from even the harshest wet weathers. You will only get wet with this jacket if the water runs down the neck or in the sleeves. Even that though is hard with this jacket as there is a zip the whole length of the front of the jacket that comes quite far up your neckline if you fully zip it up, very handy when it is cold and wet.
For comfort this jacket has an elasticated waistline and sleeve ends so that it holds to your shape easily without being restrictive. For airflow there is a flap on the rear of the jacket that lets it breath but as it is overlapping it still lets the jacket be waterproof.
When the jacket inevitably becomes dirty cleaning this product is very simple and effective also. A simple wash in a machine or even by hand with a quick scrub is easily enough to get even the toughest stains off this fabric. You don't need to worry about fading either, as I have washed this product hundreds of times now and I see no visible fading in the colour which is still as bright and protective as ever.
This jacket has proven beneficial to me many times and I often carry it with me in my bag or on my back in case I get stuck out in the rain and need it to get back. Personally I think that it is the smallest packing jacket on the market and well worth the money I spent on it. I would recommend this product to anyone but it isn't something that you really want to stay out in heavy rain for too long in as it is only thin so you will get cold after an hour or so.
