It cannot be disputed that specialized are one of the leading brands in modern day cycling. They are used by world tour teams such as Etix Quickstep and Team Astana. At the end of the day, it is important to note that an inner tube is an inner tube, that is to say, it provides you a means to ride your bike. I myself am a frequent user of specialised tubes and products. All my bikes over the years have been from them and without a doubt, they are just as reliable as any other cycling brand out there.
The specialised tubes vary in sizes and valve lengths. They are all tested in the factory before being released to nike shops to be sold meaning an excellent level of quality and practically negating the chance of a 'faulty tube'. All my specialized tubes have worked well and will last longer if u maintain tyre pressure and have a sterdy puncture resistant tyre.
Whilst specialized tubes are to a very good standard, to my mind, you can't ignore the fact that they are slightly pricey. The inner tube market is a strongly contested one these days and one can find a better price online. Be warned however that along with a fall in price comes a reduction in the quality of the tube and you will be getting a tube that is unlikely to be on the equivalent level of a specialised inner tube and thus perhaps more vulnerable to a puncture or a leaky valve.
Specialized are a very well know name in the cycling community and I have personally owned two specialized bikes plus many other products by them and have no problems or faults with any of their items. These inner tubes portray the same quality that this brand deserves, and if you buy and use them you will not be disappointed.
Personally I use one of my three bikes every single day and travel hundreds of miles by bicycle each year. The only inner tubes that I will buy are specialized and consequently they may not be the cheapest available but they last the longest - therefore they turn out cheapest in the long run. I have certainly had punctures with these tubes but they have only been very occasional and were made by items that would have punctured any inner tube on the market.
Apart from resisting punctures, inner tubes have to be quite tough for when you are changing the tyre or tube on the bike. I have to admit that I am not the best when it comes to changing an inner tube and always have to use tyre levers. Despite this lack of skill I have never yet damaged a tube when replacing it which really goes to show just how good they really are.
Coming in all the sizes that you will need, with a presta or a Schrader valve these inner tubes will not disappoint you. You won't really notice them until you have a problem but with these tubes you won't have a problem very often which is really all that you want from an inner tube. Highly recommended as with all specialized products.
